Kinetic Art

Learning Objectives

  • Students will explore balance by experimenting with various shapes

  • Students will be able to identify kinetic art through discussion and exploration

  • Students will incorporate movement into their art by making a hanging mobile

  • VA:Cr2.1.3 -  Create artwork using a variety of artistic processes and materials. 

  • VA:Re7.1.3 - Speculate about the artistic processes an artist used to create a work of art.

Steps

  • Complete a planning sheet.

    • Sketch different shapes to include

  • Draw out shapes on construction paper.

  • Cut out shapes.

  • Punch hole in shapes.

  • Connect shape to wooden hanging base using wire, string, or yarn.
